January already?!

What a wonderful Holiday season we had this year! My favorite part about the holidays is spending time with each of our families. It was especially fantastic this year because little Carter was here to share in all the fun festivities even though he won't remember them...I took LOTS of pictures so he will always know what happened on his first Christmas :) Christmas Eve is a big deal at John's parents' house. They don't even make as big a deal over Christmas DAY! Unfortunately, these pictures are super out of order, but when I get to Christmas Eve at their house, I will explain everything :)Here is Carter all ready for bed on Christmas even in his super cute Christmas jammies. I took a video of him that was really cute and he was talking to me, but he threw up at the end so I'm not posting it lol.

Christmas morning...some of the pants Carter got from Santa :)

My happy boy on Christmas morning :D

There are no blinds in this room and it was SUPER bright that morning. Here is John with the Allen Wrenches I got him. That turd guessed what it was the night before. There is no surprising him, I swear!

My Darren Williams jersey that I've been asking for for the past 2 years ha ha. I finally got it and I was super excited! My sister and her husband got us tickets to the game on the 28th and I just can't wait to wear it! I love the JAZZ!!!

John got me Beauty and the Beast! He and I absolutely LOVE Disney movies. We have a ton already and Carter will love them too when he is older :)

My favorite shirt that I got John. He has a lot of blacks and browns in his wardrobe so I thought I'd add a little color and it turns out he looks smokin' in this color :D ha ha ha!

Can you tell how excited I was for this gift?

John got me the first season of Glee on DVD! I didn't think there was any way I was getting this because my brother in law tried getting it for Crystal and the girl at the store told him he'd have a better chance at winning the lottery than finding a copy in any store! I love JOHN!!!

Again with the brightness...but I got him a jigsaw! He needed a new one because his sister broke his...I only put a few of our Christmas gifts up because there were just SO many pictures to choose from to post!

John and Carter a few days after Christmas. I just LOVE how cute he is with him!

Now onto Christmas Eve at the Allen house. This year, John's sister decided that we all had to make our gifts for the person whose name we drew...NEVER AGAIN!!! That's all I have to say ha ha. This is the gift I made for my niece Brooklyn that shares Carter's birthday. I think they turned out super cute.

And THIS, ladies and gents, is the AMAZING dinosaur that John made for Gabriel. He bought one of those tiny little models that you put together, traced the pieces, blew them up, and cut out the pieces and this is the result! All the other kids were super jealous! I was super jealous lol. I want one! He says if he makes another one, it will be a flying one that he can hang from the ceiling in Carter's room. Cool, right?

Here is my baby riding the dino ;)

Carter was totally into the festivities if you couldn't tell ha ha ha

My sister in law made this tutu for Katelyn and she is freaking adorable and posed like this for me when I told her I was taking a picture! I love her!

The Besties in their Santa suits at my mom's house. Carter is snoozing as usual lol.

This is just a recent picture of Carter. He is already in 3-6 month clothes! What a chunk! I took him to his 2 month check up and he is in the 85th percentile for his weight and the 66th for his height! He is going to be a big boy ha ha. He only cried for about 10 seconds after he got his shots and when we left, the other nurse said, "wait, he got shots didn't he? Wow, he's a trooper." That's right! I think he has a high pain tolerance like John, phew! I think he is just so stinkin' cute and he is so much fun!

Here he is just being a doll before bed one night! He smiles so much now and talks up a storm if you can get him going. John's favorite thing to do is get him talking. He just brings so much joy to our lives and I can't imagine them without him!

I'm sorry, but he is the cutest thing EVER!!! ha ha

Never Naughty Always Nice

This is one of the darling Christmas onesies that I got for Carter at Old Navy! It says "Never Naughty Always Nice and it has a picture of a monkey with a Santa hat on. He is so cute! I just can't even get over it! I got him another one that says "Baby's First Christmas" that is super cute. I just love Old Navy! We also got him a Santa suit from JC Penney. It is so cute too! We got family pictures taken on Sunday and did his newborns (finally) and we had him wear the little suit and it's just darling! I will post them as soon as I get them back from our photographer! I seriously can't wait! They are freaking adorable!

Carter and Riley (his bestie) got their pictures taken on Santa's lap on Black Friday at the Newgate Mall. I had so much fun spending the day with my mom, John, Crys and Riley. We went shopping and saw Harry Potter! It was such a fun day! :D

I just think my little guy is so handsome. I might just be biased since I'm his mom and all...ha ha ha. I took this today :) He is getting so big! He smiles now and he makes the cutest noises when he's happy. He sleeps great at night and he will be 2 months old on the 22nd! I can't believe it!

This picture is kind of hard to see since Mo is black, but our dogs LOVE Carter. At first, I was really scared to bring them around him because I didn't know how they would react. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they they can't get enough of him. This is a picture of Mo snuggling with Carter on the day of the "Big Blizzard!"

Just being cute as always :D

I'm pretty sure this is Thanksgiving morning. John LOVES to snuggle with Carter. It is seriously his favorite thing in the whole world. He just loves his little guy as much as I do and it's fun to see them together

He sleeps with his mouth open. Cute, right???

Here's a picture of his ADORABLE smile! I just love that he's getting a little personality. I wonder if he's going to be more like me or John? I guess only time will tell

Oh and here is our HOUSE!!! It's been so long since I've posted pictures of it! We've come a long way in the past month! We put in our windows on Saturday and hope to put our doors on this week. It's really coming along and I just can't wait until it's done and we can move in and REALLY be a family with our own home :)

I really love this time of year. Crystal (my sister) and I were talking about how we were having a hard time getting into the Christmasy mood. What better way to get into the spirit than to get gifts for a family in need??? That is honestly my favorite thing about Christmastime! We know a family who has been struggling and we were able to give them some gifts last year and it just makes me feel so great to know that I am able to help someone else. The family is still struggling so we are going to help them again this year. I can't wait to see their faces light up on Christmas Eve when we deliver the gifts and inform them that Santa must have delivered them to the wrong house :) I hope everyone can find something this holiday season to help remind them of the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Jesus is the Reason for the Season! :D God Bless!

Honestly, I could go on and on and on for hours and hours listing all the things I am thankful for. These are just a few that I could think of off the top of my head. Some silly and some serious. I honestly have the most loving and wonderful family in the entire world. They are all so patient with me, not to mention they are freaking crazy fun! I love Johnny Poo and Carter more than anyone could ever know and my life is just awesome! I try not to complain too much about the little things in life and if I catch myself doing it, I try to stop. I'm so thankful for my Heavenly Father and all the wonderful blessings He has blessed me with in my life. I miss my daddy so much but I know, without a doubt, that he is doing so many wonderful things in Heaven and I know that I will see him again because of the wonderful Plan of Salvation. I feel like I should end this by saying, "Amen" ha ha. Peace out! :P

Update

It's been quite a while since I've updated our blog. I've definitely been a busy girl and I haven't even gone back to work or school yet...oh boy. Life is going to get interesting, come January. All of my time has been devoted to Carter and building our house so I guess that's what my post is going to be about :) I guess I'll start with the house...Well, we got SO much done on Saturday. Our building supervisor told us we were going to set a new record! Here is the outside with all the interior walls up. The garage is all sheeted now so it looks a little different, but you get the idea...

This is one of the bedrooms...I may make it Carter's because his was supposed to be bigger but ended up being 10 inches smaller than the plan said. If not, it will be our office.

This is the super cute arched window in Carter's room :) I love it
The rest of Carter's room.

Guest bathroom that is super tiny. Just a sink, toilet and tub.
Master bath that is bigger lol. I like it that way.

Master bedroom

Living room
Entry way

Kitchen, laundry room, dining room...and my pantry! I wasn't supposed to have a pantry, but our building supervisor loves us so much that we are getting one anyway :) (obviously the laundry room and pantry weren't framed yet, they are now)

Stairs

If we're lucky, we will get our roof trusses put on at the first of next week. It is really coming along and I'm getting so excited. I just can't wait til it's all finished and we can move in! It's been really fun getting to know all the families we're building with. It will be fun to have them all as neighbors when we're finished :)

John and I had our 3 year anniversary on Tuesday but we had to work on the house so we are going to celebrate tomorrow night. We are probably going to go to dinner and go bowling. We love to bowl and it's been a long time since we've been. We were going to go see Harry Potter, but we decided to go for my birthday with my family instead next weekend. John is such an amazing husband and dad. He goes to work 3 hours early 3 days a week so he can leave to work on the house and then he comes home and still has time to snuggle with his little guy and hang out with his wife. I couldn't ask for a better husband and I hope to have many, many more anniversaries :D

Carter will be a month old on Monday! It is crazy to me that he is already that old. I've enjoyed every single second of having him in our lives. He is so cute and so much fun! He is such a good baby. He hardly cries and he sleeps pretty well at night...who could ask for more, right? Here are some recent photos of him

This was a couple weeks ago...we were hanging out with my mom and sister. I think he's totally doing the Zoolander face lol.

I just love him in hats :)

His first real bath after his umbilical cord fell off

I think he's starting to look more like me...no?

This one is sideways for some dumb reason but I think it's totally precious :D

John put him in the laundry basket ha ha. Don't worry, it's clean ;)

So handsome

He is just getting so big! It's crazy to me that I will be 23 in a week and I have this amazing baby that we weren't planning on bringing into the world for another 3 years or so. Now that he's here, I wouldn't trade him for anything!!! Life is definitely going to be a lot more interesting with him around. I'm going back to work in 2 weeks...wow that flew by. Then I'm going back to school in January. Luckily, John will be able to watch him most the times I have class and my sister in law has volunteered to watch him the other times. I'm lucky I have such great support. Then, of course, we'll be working on the house...life is DEFINITELY going to be an adventure for the next little while, but I wouldn't change a thing. That's all for now :)
