Crazy about LOVE DAY!

Yesterday was so crazy!  Not even kidding you!  I honestly can't even remember half the things that happened because there was just so much!  OK, let me start at the first I guess.  Carter is still pretty sick :(  After feeding him yesterday morning, he went back to sleep.  When he woke up, he threw up all over me when I was taking him in his room to get dressed.  We're not talking "spit up" here...we're talking Exorcist style, (green and everything) projectile vomiting all over me.  I yell at John to come in and grab him so I can clean us both off.  I throw baby in the tub and then I get in.  I put Carter in a onesie and lay him on the bed with John.  He has been sleeping a lot since he has been sick so I just let him go back to sleep.  I am a procrastinator...putting John's gift off to the last minute, of course.  I wanted to get him a vintage Batman toy from an antique store but, alas, neither of the stores I went to had any such toy :( Boo!  So I got him this instead...
A new hopper for his paintball gun.  He has needed one for a long time and I decided it was a good gift :)  He told me my gift is in the mail but he won't tell me what it is so now I just wait...I'm no good at waiting...

So after I gave John his gift, I took Carter in to get him dressed.  Last week, during my Old Navy splurge, I got him an adorable Valentines outfit, pictured here...

"Little heart breaker".  I think he is ;)

Side note...while I was getting Carter ready...this guy was staring at me through the window!!!  Can you see him?

No more than 20 minutes later, he throws up AGAIN!!!  All over his adorable outfit. NOT TO MENTION all over my bed :(  I was not having a good morning (yes, I said "morning".  It was no later than 11 at this point).  I'm really getting worried now.  After he threw up, he just kept dry heaving and coughing.  I decided it was time to call the doctor again.  My doctor was booked solid yesterday so I got an appointment with another Pediatrician at 1:10.  I had already taken him to the doctor on Friday but he said there wasn't much I could do other than just wait it out.  When we got there yesterday, the first thing they did was weigh him...he was down 8 ounces since Friday!  Not good!  Also, he had a lot of wheezing in his lungs so she hooked him up to a breathing machine.  Here's my little man in the doctor's office
This picture was taken with my phone so it's suck-ola.  Don't ask me what is with the color, because I have no idea.  He actually did really well with the mask.  He squirmed at first and then he calmed down and just breathed in the medicine.  They sent us home with a rental and our very own attachments...woot!

After the doc, I headed to work.  I made super fun Valentines for my Kindergarteners and co-workers.  Behold my craftiness
I also made cupcakes for my co-workers but that didn't happen until last night so they are getting Valentine treats a day late...I'm sure they won't mind ;)

Way funny story from work yesterday:  So my friend, Aiko, made little valentines for the kiddos as well.  She got up in front of them and asked, "What day is it today?"  they all yell back "Valen-times Day!!!!".  Aiko:  "That's right, and what do we do on Valentines Day?"  Adorable, innocent, sweet little girl:  "We make love!!!"  Me and my friend Marlyn bust up laughing!  I couldn't even hold it in...it was just too perfect!  I ♥ my job...seriously!  Who can say they have amazing things like that happen almost every day?  That's right...not many.

When I got home, I took John dinner at work.  I do this every Monday and I really enjoy it.  I used to do it every night but since we've been working on the house, I only get to do it on Mondays so I take advantage of it.  When I got home, Carter was having a pretty hard time breathing so I gave him another treatment, sucked out his boogies, fed him, jammied him and put him to bed.  Poor baby was just so tired.  That was about 9.  After he was asleep, I got a lot done.  I made the cupcakes.  Here are the ones I made special for John :)
Aww...how presh!  Then I worked on some blocks I am making for a very dear friend's baby who is due this month!  (I will upload pictures of them when they're done...I'm very excited at how they look so far).  Then around 12:30, Carter starts screaming.  I can hear him through the monitor and he sounds super congested.  I went and got him out, changed his diaper, sucked out his boogies and tried to rock him back to sleep but he was just too congested.
His face says it all, I think :(
By this time, I had to go get John from work.  I had to wake up my mother in law to take Carter so I could leave.  When we got home, they were in the rocking chair and he was half asleep.  I decided to give him another breathing treatment.  John's first time doing it:
Carter is honestly so content when we do the treatments.  He just sits there with his mouth wide open and just talks.  I have a video of him...maybe I'll upload it if it doesn't take 8 years like it usually does.  Here's another picture of him with his fish face ;)
After his treatment, we sucked out the boogies again, fed him and then he was happy and content :)
Ha ha, I took this upside down picture of him before he went back to sleep.  Mind you, this was at like 2:30 in the morning.  Well, I guess that concludes the insanely crazy day I had yesterday.  Surprisingly, I wouldn't consider it a "bad" day.  All in all, I enjoyed it and I'm glad my little monster is starting to feel better :)

Confession time

I've been thinking lately that I have a lot of things I need to confess...to no one in particular so I'll just post it on here:

1.  When I get hair on my fingers in the shower, I wipe it on the wall
(I got this picture off the internet...it's not from my shower.)

2.  I'm addicted to Facebook...there, I finally said it

3.  I was eating super healthy all week, then, Thursday I ate a donut and it was absolutely delicious :D
4.  I think Carter is the cutest baby in the entire world

5.  I hardly ever shave my legs in the winter
6.  My nightstand is constantly covered in crap.  I will clean it and by the next day it will be a disaster again.  I don't even know how it happens...honestly.  The mess fairy must come or something...

7.  Sometimes when Carter spits up on me, I just wipe it off and call it good....same when he does it on the bed.  Judge if you will, but I know most moms have done it at some point.

8.  I text when I drive

9.  I swear

10.  I love TV.  Mostly trashy shows that my bishop would not approve of ha ha.
Again, judge if you will, but I know most people have many things they would not be willing to admit and I just figure...might as well.  I am who I am and I'm certainly not going to change :)

My big boy

I guess it's been quite sometime since I've posted.  Carter is seriously growing like crazy!  I just can't handle it.  He is 3 and a half months old and, get this, he rolled over for the first time tonight!!!  I freaked out.  I was doing laundry and he was just talking to me as always.  He was not feeling good earlier (throwing up, exploding diapers, the works) so I decided that laying him on his tummy might help.  Well, he didn't like it so what does he do?  Just flips right over like it's nothing.  Way to go Carter!!!  Mom was so proud of you.  I wish John could have been there to see it.  I feel like he misses a lot with his work schedule but I'm so grateful he has a job.  Also, Carter got a shnazzy new doooooo!  His hair was getting ridiculously long so I had to cut it.  Here are the before and after shots :)

Seriously...he looks like a little sheep dog

Everyone kept asking me why I cut it..."he's too young" "It's not that long"....yadda yadda yadda.  Seriously people???  It was freaking long and it's not like I shaved him bald.  It's about as long as it was when he was born.  Really though, he looks more like a little boy now instead of my baby.  He tries to sit up on his own.  He is getting so strong.  I honestly can't believe all the things he does.  He also got blessed last Sunday (finally...).  I was so grateful to EVERYONE that was able to make it.  It really meant a lot to me.  We had a little issue with directions and my mom, sister, brother in law and my sisters in laws actually missed the blessing but don't worry, I'm not mad.  I actually felt bad because they all felt so bad that they missed it.  They got lost and couldn't find the church.  No bueno but it's all good.  Enjoy a few pictures from the blessing.  Sadly, I didn't get any of him in his outfit so we're going to have to take some and pretend it was the day he was actually blessed...pssh....who cares anyway?
These are 4 of my very best friends!  Jerry, Russ, Luke and Zarin.  I was SO glad they could all make it :)

My cousin, Matt and his beautiful family:  Maddie, Debbie, Rendon, and Jaden.  So happy they could make it too.  All the way from Grantsville!

It took 3 shots to get this decent one ha ha.  The one previous to this I am laughing because Jerry told me to not put my hands too low or something to that effect.  I love these guys ♥

Crys and Riley and my mom and Boogie.  We had a lot of fun.  We had the luncheon at the school that I work at.  It worked out perfectly because everyone got to play basketball ;)

My sister, Amber and her husband, Shane.  I was glad they were able to make it too :)

My sister, Crystal's in-laws Shelly and Kevin.  They are just like family to me.  I love them both so so so so much!

Another one that we had to take like 90 shots and this was still the best one we got.  I need that program where you can cut out bad things and fix them...anyone know what it's called?  ha ha.
John did a beautiful job.  He is super super scared of getting up in front of people but he gave the most beautiful blessing I have ever heard (even though he didn't have a microphone and my  nephew screamed through half of it).  I love him so much and I'm so glad he was willing to go outside his comfort zone to bless our wonderful baby :)

House Update:
We have SHEETROCK!!!  Our house actually looks like a house inside now.  I was surprised at how big the rooms actually are.  I was under the impression that they would look SMALLER once the sheetrock was up but they actually look bigger.  We are almost finished shingling the rest of the houses.  We have about 1 and a half left and then we will have no more work to do outside...I'm really looking forward to that day since the temperatures have been in the teens the past few nights.  Now that the sheetrock is up, we will be putting up trim, painting, doing floors and before you know it, we'll be moving in.  I'm so so so excited!  House warming party at my house when we move in ;)  (invites go out to the 2 people that actually read this thing ha ha)  I don't have any pictures of the sheetrock yet (I was going to get some tonight but didn't go out because of the sick baby) but I'll put up the most recent picture I have.

Please excuse all the garbage in front.  This is the finished product once our shingles were done.

Well...I'm just going to put up some more pictures of my studly little man because I can't get enough of him and I think he's stinkin' cute.  Enjoy ;)
Old Navy had their Kid/Baby sale and I went a little crazy...but doesn't he look adorable???

 Huge blue eyes...

...and a charming smile.  I'm going to be beating the girls off with a stick ;)

We went on a walk yesterday morning and it was freezing!  Hence the body suit...that he kept trying to eat...meh...

Later that day.  "Naturally good looking just like dad".  Another Old Navy find.  5 bucks...who would pass that up, right?

What a freaking stud :D

Oh the joys of working with children #2

Alright folks, you thought last week's post about work was bad...this one trumps it NO QUESTION!!!!  So if you remember, last week, little "Joe" peed his pants...twice.  Today, little....Ben POOPED his pants!!!! and guess who got to clean up the mess?  That's right, yours truly.  Luckily, I didn't have to clean HIM off, just the huge mess he made in the bathroom after I asked him to wait while I went and got gloves.  When I got back, he decided to try and clean himself up and just made a huge, disgusting, SMELLY mess all over the boy's bathroom.  I'm on my hands and knees, dry heaving, trying not to throw up, cleaning poop off the floor.  The only thing I can do to keep from throwing up is breathe through my  mouth but I fear I'm going to taste it which just makes the dry heaving worse.  Oh what a joyous day it was at Wilson Elementary today.  Remember boys and girls, I LOVE my job!  For real...days like this just make me wonder why I'm studying to be a teacher and then a delightful child hands me a handmade valentine and then I think "oh yeah, that's why"  Thanks for reading :D

All the "shingle" ladies

On Saturday, we started the shingles on our house.  Let's just say it was a VERY long day.  I never thought shingling would be such a tough job but it really kicked my bum...and I just handed the boys the shingles and they nailed them on the roof...whew!  ha ha.  My battle wounds include, 3 huge bruises on my legs, scratches on my arms and legs, a big raspberry on my left knee, and my hands are pretty torn up.  Our roof is about 3/4 of the way done and it looks really good so far!  Once the roof is complete, we will be moving inside where our gas is already installed and we won't freeze anymore!  Yahoo!  We're hoping to get our insulation today and drywall next week.  It's super exciting that things are really moving along now.  We're still hoping to move in by April, but May is OK with me if that's when we happen to finish....but no later than the first week ;)  While we were on the roof Saturday, I was getting pretty restless, so to make it more fun, I decided to make up songs or say funny things to lighten the mood...it's just in my nature, guys!  The songs I made up included "All the 'shingle' ladies", "Shing Shing A Ling" (to the tune of Chim Chim A Ney), and "Shing A Ling A Ling A Ding Dong Ding" (I'm pretty sure it's some variation of Jingle Bells).  It was a good day in the song making upping department for ol' Jessica ha ha.  The boys didn't think I was very funny though.  By that time, everyone just wanted to go home and they did not find my jokes funny in the slightest...at least I could make myself laugh ;)  Even though they wouldn't put up, even a giggle, for some of my best work (come on, all the "shingle" ladies???  Freaking funny)  they thought it was absolutely hilarious when I laid on my tummy on the plank to get off the ladder and had to have John pull me onto the roof because I was so scared....yeah, laugh it up, guys!  I'm glad we have such wonderful future neighbors to help us with all the work being done on our home.  A HUGE thanks goes out to Randy Hyer and Eric Perry for all their help on Saturday.  It would not have gotten NEAR as far without their help.  I will post pictures of the roof once it is finished!

Oh the joys of working with children

Before I begin this post, I would just like to make it VERY clear that I absolutely LOVE my job!  As most of you know (the 3 people that actually read my blog) I work at an elementary doing After School Club. Today was intense...Hadley, our site coordinator was not at work.  Usually, if I have a discipline problem, or any problem really, I just send that kid to Hadley and she takes care of them.  Well, today was different...I felt the weight of the elementary world on my shoulders.  There is this adorable little boy in Kindergarten.  One little problem...he can't seem to "hold it" if you know what I mean.  So my friend, Aiko, brings little, we'll call him Joe, into the office and tells me that he's had an accident...his second one today and he has no clothes to change into.  So he tells her he needs to go number 2....20 seconds later, he walks out of the bathroom with one shoe on and says, "I pooped my pants"...AWESOME! I do enough of that at home, I'm not changing a poopy bum at work!  So I call his mom, for the second time that day and tell her that she has to come and pick him up because we're not allowed to do that (I may have fudged a little...so sue me!  you would have done the same thing).  After I get off the phone with her, I realize Joe still has only one shoe on so I decide to walk down to the boys bathroom and pick up the other one.  When I get back with his shoe, backpack, coat and pee soaked pants in a plastic bag, I realize he has peed AGAIN!!!  On the floor in the office, there is a nice puddle and his little sock is SOAKED.  So I go into the sick room and grab the paper towels and begin to clean up the mess.  He is sweet and helps me by stepping on the towels with his soaked little sock...yeah, that's totally helping.  He is so cute and nice that I can't even be upset.  When his mom got there, he started crying because he wanted to eat snack with his friends at the table.  BROKE.MY.HEART!!!  I felt so bad for the little guy.  Just breathe, for tomorrow is a new day :)

January already?!

What a wonderful Holiday season we had this year! My favorite part about the holidays is spending time with each of our families. It was especially fantastic this year because little Carter was here to share in all the fun festivities even though he won't remember them...I took LOTS of pictures so he will always know what happened on his first Christmas :) Christmas Eve is a big deal at John's parents' house. They don't even make as big a deal over Christmas DAY! Unfortunately, these pictures are super out of order, but when I get to Christmas Eve at their house, I will explain everything :)Here is Carter all ready for bed on Christmas even in his super cute Christmas jammies. I took a video of him that was really cute and he was talking to me, but he threw up at the end so I'm not posting it lol.

Christmas morning...some of the pants Carter got from Santa :)

My happy boy on Christmas morning :D

There are no blinds in this room and it was SUPER bright that morning. Here is John with the Allen Wrenches I got him. That turd guessed what it was the night before. There is no surprising him, I swear!

My Darren Williams jersey that I've been asking for for the past 2 years ha ha. I finally got it and I was super excited! My sister and her husband got us tickets to the game on the 28th and I just can't wait to wear it! I love the JAZZ!!!

John got me Beauty and the Beast! He and I absolutely LOVE Disney movies. We have a ton already and Carter will love them too when he is older :)

My favorite shirt that I got John. He has a lot of blacks and browns in his wardrobe so I thought I'd add a little color and it turns out he looks smokin' in this color :D ha ha ha!

Can you tell how excited I was for this gift?

John got me the first season of Glee on DVD! I didn't think there was any way I was getting this because my brother in law tried getting it for Crystal and the girl at the store told him he'd have a better chance at winning the lottery than finding a copy in any store! I love JOHN!!!

Again with the brightness...but I got him a jigsaw! He needed a new one because his sister broke his...I only put a few of our Christmas gifts up because there were just SO many pictures to choose from to post!

John and Carter a few days after Christmas. I just LOVE how cute he is with him!

Now onto Christmas Eve at the Allen house. This year, John's sister decided that we all had to make our gifts for the person whose name we drew...NEVER AGAIN!!! That's all I have to say ha ha. This is the gift I made for my niece Brooklyn that shares Carter's birthday. I think they turned out super cute.

And THIS, ladies and gents, is the AMAZING dinosaur that John made for Gabriel. He bought one of those tiny little models that you put together, traced the pieces, blew them up, and cut out the pieces and this is the result! All the other kids were super jealous! I was super jealous lol. I want one! He says if he makes another one, it will be a flying one that he can hang from the ceiling in Carter's room. Cool, right?

Here is my baby riding the dino ;)

Carter was totally into the festivities if you couldn't tell ha ha ha

My sister in law made this tutu for Katelyn and she is freaking adorable and posed like this for me when I told her I was taking a picture! I love her!

The Besties in their Santa suits at my mom's house. Carter is snoozing as usual lol.

This is just a recent picture of Carter. He is already in 3-6 month clothes! What a chunk! I took him to his 2 month check up and he is in the 85th percentile for his weight and the 66th for his height! He is going to be a big boy ha ha. He only cried for about 10 seconds after he got his shots and when we left, the other nurse said, "wait, he got shots didn't he? Wow, he's a trooper." That's right! I think he has a high pain tolerance like John, phew! I think he is just so stinkin' cute and he is so much fun!

Here he is just being a doll before bed one night! He smiles so much now and talks up a storm if you can get him going. John's favorite thing to do is get him talking. He just brings so much joy to our lives and I can't imagine them without him!

I'm sorry, but he is the cutest thing EVER!!! ha ha
